Is it lymphocystis?

I bought a coral beauty which I placed in quarantine (thank god). On the 3rd day, it had 2-3 white spots on the edge of the tail and a spot or 2 near the edge. And then one spot each on the edges of the ventral fin and one of the pectoral fin. I started hypo and it is now at 1.009.

The thing is, I took out the fish and put it in a bucket of RO water for >5 minutes and after returning to the tank, the spots are still there. I was under the impression that ich cysts would fall off?

It's now been 4-5 days since 1.009 was reached. The same spots are still there, after at least 1 week. No new spots have shown up. It is in a 18 gal bare bottom with some lace rock for hiding. There is a flame hawk with it and the hawk has never had spots on its body.

Is this ich or something else?

If the fish has ich a freshwater dip will not remove the spots.The spots you see are not actually the parasite but the result of what the partasite does to the fish.The parasite itself is inbedded in the fish.I had a fish with lympho and it basically grew on the outside of the fins and a few spots on the body as well.They looked like cotton and went away on its own.Freshwater dips work well for things like flukes and black ich.I guess since you already have the fish in hypo its not gonna hurt to continue the treatment just to make sure.If its lympho the only thing you can do it feed the fish well and keep the water quality good.
