is it necessary to attach a crocea to rock?

Do I have to allow my crocea to attach to something? Or can I just leave it in the sand?

Nope you can leave it in the sand. You can look at the Past Picture of Clams at the top of this forum and look at the last picture added by me. I have a crocea and a maxima on the bottom of a bare bottom tank.

thats going to depend on tank depth and lighting, but yes they can do just fine on the sand.

I have mine just in the sand, but I put a few frag disks deep in the sand in case they extend their feet and I feel like moving them. Works great.
