I was at this ebay site:

http://cgi.ebay.com/40lbs-Walt-Smit...itemZ7745904414QQcategoryZ66793QQcmdZViewItem

looking at live rock and someone is selling some walt smith live rock. I saw this:

For most beginners who do not want to spend too much money and do not know how to take care of the rock, Fiji rock is an easily maintainable rock.

Can you not take care of rock? Barring stupid moves such as dumping Lysol or the like in there, anyone who's doing the bare minimum of husbandry is going to "take care of" it, right?

Sounds like someone I would like to buy from.  They are probably referring to it being already cured, so people who don't know how to cure rock would be ok. That would be my guess.

IMO it's marketing.

I can't see that one locality of live rock is `easier to care for' than any other. IMO that just doesn't make sense - it's not like Tonga branch is high-maintenance or something
