Is it possible...

For your tank to go through only a tiny cycle when it's new?

I have 30# of aragonite live, 20# of base. I picked up 30# of Live Fiji that was a trade in at my lfs. The fiji was a trade in from a guy that was moving to another state that didn't want to transport, so it consisted of 150# of live fiji/tonga and I got it the same day it was dropped off. Most of the pieces were covered in corraline, featherdusters, snails, crabs, and a lot of other lil critters. Most pieces had a ton of Button Polyps, candy coral, finger coral, mushrooms...but I had to refrain myself from getting any one of those since this is my first salt tank.

Day 3 w/live rock - Ammonia = .5

Day 4 = .5

Day 5 = . 25

Day 6 = 0

It is now the 12th day and I have been consistently getting all 0's for about 6 days now. No algae breakouts of any sort yet, so the rocks are a nice purple and the tank is so crystal clear...Is it safe to add the clean-up crew or 2 percs?

55 Gallon All-glass
Aqua C Remora w/mj1200
2 mj1200
1 Hydor Koralia 2
300w Rena Cal elite heater
Aquaclear 70 powerfilter (sponge/carbon only)

Your tank is going to constantly cycle for the next month or two. You could try a clean up crew, but I wouldn't add any fish just yet.

My algae cycles didn't really start until the 2nd and 3rd month when the nutrients within the tank started to spike.

I would stick with just the cleaner crew for at least a few weeks just to see how things go. maybe wait a week or two and if there is no algae blooms then proceed.
