Is it true that T. Clams like Nitrates and Phoshpates???

I heard somewhere (i forget where) that Tridacnid Clams like Nitrates and Phosphates....is this true?? Do they actually like them or is it that they can live with it????

they do use nitrates and phosphates, but you dont need to add any, there should be plenty for them
