Is it worth to remove macro algae to additional skimmer?

I have a 100 gallon SPS dominated display tank with 25 gallon sump. The sump has a 10 gallon in-sump refugium for growth macro algae. I have a Macro-aqua KP-300 needle-wheel skimmer rated for 300 gallon.
The Coralline algae growthes crazily fast but it still has cyanobacterium problem on sand bed (1" sand bed). I want to add an additional skimmer to increase filtration, but I have to remove macro algae to have room to put a second skimmer, is it worth to do that in this SPS dominated tank?

how long has the fuge been det up? it took a couple of months for the cyno to clear up in my fuge. what are your parameters?

What about getting an external skimmer (like a MR-2) so you can keep both and have the skimmer out of the sump?

You should look into your sandbed issues. Look at Ron Shimicks articals on deep sand beds and the critters you should have to keep them active.

Since the skimmer and the macro take out differant polutants I would try to balance the two instead of haveing one or the other. With that being said you might be able to get more macro growing with a stronger light going 24/7
