Is lighting in US competible in Malaysia?

Hi! I am from Malaysia and our electricity here is in 240V. I understand that in US it is 110V. If I were to buy the Metal Halide fixture here can I use it in Malaysia? Or is the MH bulb compatible?

I think you could use the fixtures as long as you have a plug to convert from 240 to 110. Our plug style is different, so you might have to look to a travel store to find a converter. The bulbs shouldn't be a problem to use, but you might be better off to buy a 240 ballast, and then just use a standard bulb.

If the bulb should be ok then why need to buy the 240 ballast? I can just fix to our casing which already had all the things inside, right? I suppose all the bulbs are universal in use.

The bulbs should work fine, it's the ballast itself that will need to work on your 240v. Many of the magnetic ballasts have options of wiring for 220/240v and I beleive you can get electronic in 220/240v versions.
