Is my Cycle Stuck?

I may be jumping the gun... but just wanted some opinions.

My cycle started September 14th by adding pure ammonia and dosing Seachem Stability. I brought my Ammonia level to 2-3 ppm. The ammonia remained at 2ppm for 3 days before dropping to 1 ppm at which point I started seeing Nitrites and Nitrates at the same time. Over the next couple days Ammonia dropped to zero and Nitrites and Nitrates went through the roof.

I'm testing with the API Saltwater Master test kit.

My SG has remained at 1.025 during the entire cycle.

I am still getting a reading of Zero Ammonia while my Nitrites and Nitrates appear stuck at 5ppm for Nitrite and somewhere between 80-160ppm for Nitrate.

Should Nitrite be coming down at this point? or should I do a water change and re-dose ammonia to give it a kick? Or just leave it?

I dosed Stability for the recommended 8 days, it's been 7 days since my last dose.

Thanks!

If your nitrates are rising then nitrite is being processed so i would say your cycle is relatively complete. If you want to feel more confident you could do a large water change and start a second smaller cycle to see how quickly it gets processed.

Larger meaning more than 25%?

2 more weeks and you should be good to go..
In general I will always recommend no shorter than 4 weeks for a cycle.. (unless the rock just came from another established tank)

I would have never let nitrates get that high though.. Good luck getting them down..
Start water changes asap..

LFS says leave it...if nothing in a week to try water change and some Seachem Prime.

Accurate ?

Yes, your cycle is moving along fine, just wait it out and it should sort itself out. But I agree about not letting your nitrates get that high to begin with, but hindsight is always 20/20. You will need to do a couple massive water changes to bring your nitrates down to where they should be before you start adding livestock (you can either do them now or after your cycle is complete).

Thx John...LFS suggested the same thing. ..let the cycle go then do water changes. Thx for the insight
