Is My False Percs any closer to Spawning??

Well... ive had my mated clowns for 9 months now, they used to spawn before i got them, but not for me yet, i have the light cycle on for time of year varience and temp variation for time of year, and the moon cycle variation, they eat like pigs, and more recently my water parameters are excelent, for the last three days they keep leaving their enemone and going to the bottom in the sand bed and kicking with their tail, is this any indication that they are getting ready to spawn, Naturally when is spawning season, i mean as far as my controller is concerned it is the begining of march.....

IME, spawning season is all seasons -- all of my clowns that spawned did it year around, about every 10-14 days.

Did you actually see that they were spawning in the past, or were you just told that? IME, 9 months is a long time after a tank move. I had a spawning pair of pink skunks that I sold to a local reefer, they were spawning for him within 2 months.

What all do you have in the tank?
What do you feed them?
How often do you feed them?

There isn't any aggressive tank mates..... there is a third clown in my tank (a jouvinile) that hangs around, they all get along, but mabey he is screwing it up...

Or mabey it's a feeding problem, like you say....
i feed good pinches of omega 1 marine flake with garlic
and 2 cubes of mysis
1 sheet or nori
small pinch of pellets

don't worry, it all gets eaten, there is 11 fish in that 135gallon....
i am gonna up the feeds a little and see if that helps, the tank can handle the extra.....

otherwise mabey i gotta get rid of the 3 clown.....

I think it is a couple of things -- not enough food, the 3rd clown, and, IMO, an overstocked (( or soon to be when they grow )) tank.

You can always try moving things around in the tank to get a spawn. We've been pretty lucky at that. For some reason it seems to stimulate them.

Although once they spawn, don't move anything! I don't know if I believe it, but I've heard moving furniture around can stop a spawn...? < kinda' like some marriages >

Not disagreeing, just showing how different clowns can be....

About 4 years ago I moved -- my Clarkii pair were back to spawning within 2 weeks. Though this is the same pair that would stop spawning, eat (( I happened to feed the tank that the same time )), and start back up again. Heck, they wouldn't even stop while I was doing a water change -- talk about rude.
