Is my Feather Duster dead?

:eek1:

I looked at my tank this morning and noticed that my feather duster seemed to have moved from the front of the tank to the rear. On closer inspection, I saw that the tentacles had been seperated from its tube!

They almost seem to have been sheered off and the tube itself is still under the same rock - but no "feathers".

Is it dead? Will new tentacles grow back?

Help!!!!!!!!!

yes they will. he must have just gotten stressed. they let go of the feathers to give them a chance to get away.

They can lose the crown for a couple of reasons, the main ones are either they were attacked, they're starving, or conditions in your tank are stressing them out. Crowns can be regrown if the animal is healhty otherwise it's a bad sign!
