Is my Squamosa going to die???

Ok, well I had to move a few things in my tank thanks to my Engineer Gobie always burying things. I had put my Sqamosa on a rock about 4inches off the substrate, about a week later I noticed the color of the clam was not how it usually is. It is more drab and paler than usual, and it does not extend the mantle out all that way. It is on a 55 gallon w/ 2, 175 watt halides and I am running 14k bulbs. Is there anything I can do to help it get back to normal or is my clam toast????? If anyone has any advice please help.
Thanks for your time,
Mike

Your lighting sounds fine. Did you rip off or tear its foot when you moved him? Also I would check for parasites.

I would keep him in the sand , Iv'e had mine for almost 2 years and it likes its spot .
THe only clams that need a place to attach 2 are croceas and maximas I do believe . Gigas ,hippos, and sqamosas like sand.

So squamosa don't need to attach? I have been driving my self crazy putting it on some rubble in the sand to attach but it won't it keeps moving! Is this bad?

I'm a new clam owner! :)
