Being that I don't really know how big "large" is exactly, I would say your almost at capacity now. Maybe one more fish and that's it. Like mentioned above, as those fish/eels get bigger and bigger that tank is going to get smaller & smaller. GL.

Just out of curiosity, what are your Nitrates at? This is usually an indicator of how hard the tank is working to process all the crap within it.

Large means fully grown
Nitrates are on the higher side... I don't plan to increase head count anytime soon

I'd say real close to heavy - those fish are going to be putting off a lot of waste and a lot of puffers tend to be messy eaters.

Also, how much sand and rock do you have? The substrate amount will have a lot to to with telling us about your biofiltering capacity and make "light medium heavy" a lot easier to determine.

I have 3 + inches of sand and about 100 lbs of pukani, I put a 3 inch PVC for the eels under the sand so lots of sand

I would up your live rock to about 160 lbs to handle a full tank. Your sand bed is going to bee a nitrate trap unless you get a good sand clean up crew.

I would say heavy because the fish you have eat a lot of food and produce a lot of waste. Another reason I say heavy is that all of your fish are predators. As your fish grow they will become cramped in your tank.

I would not be surprised if your eels go after your puffer or triggers.

Why are you asking?
People use the "weight" of stocking for different purposes. It's not exactly a flat measure, it varies by application. That's why you're getting advice about adding fish and sand and skimmers and all different things. Like, if you tell people what you want the information for, they can give you better answers.

I'm in the middle of a project to change out the skimmer with another tank I have. I'm having nitrate/Phosphate issues and trying to figure out what the best way to proceed. My filter media gets brown quick so I'm definitely not doing something right. I wanted to get a general idea on my stock stats

Well...
The zebra gets 5 feet long
Snowflakes get about 2.5 feet long
The puffer gets 1.5 feet long or longer.
The porky gets about 2 feet long
Triggers are generally big, but hard to say without knowing the species.

So you have 5 fish in that tank that have weights measures in pounds, not ounces.

About 3/4 of what's stocked in there are far too big for a 180 especially in a group. I'd sell pretty much everything except the snowflake.

I would have to agree or at least sell the puffers. but IMO you are heavily stocked just because of how messy of eaters they are.

2 feet long for a porky?
