Nitrite= 0
Nitate=0
Ph=8.1

please tell me whats wrong asap:(

thx 4 the help:)

Make sure that you have the toad stool in areas of high flow, this is needed to remove the "slime" which will allow the polyps to open

Sean

transit and acclimation is tuff on any coral. Increase skimming, increase the flow if possible. The "slime" they let off can be toxic to other corals if not carefull. I would suggest in the next couple of days doing a water change also. You will notice a larger amount of skimmate in your skimmer.

Once you have removed the slime you should see it open up.
If after a day or so the coral has still not opened I would seek further advice. I used to have an elephants ear that cycled during the day looking dead and then expanding,
I have been told this is how they grow, my toadstool also took a couple of days to open, main thing is flow, you can direct a powerhead around it and you should see the slime come off after this the coral will open.

It will be alright. Just give it time to aclimate in your tank. They're very hardy corals. Mine took a week before poyps started to come out.

Run some carbon either in a bag in the sump or better yet run it in a diy canister or 2little fishies phosban reactor. Make sure there is enough flow to stop the slime. pH looks fine, does it drop at night maybe. What are your ca/alk/mag levels?

Don't worry to much. When I switched from crushed coral to sand I had to tear down my reef and my toadstool folded over iit's stalk. Took 2 days to stand up but it is healthy as can be now.

thx alot peeps:)

what about the kenya tree coral???

Michael:)

Don't do anything and leave them be. They will be just fine. ;)

hi all, still no change it has been 2days now and the toadstool is lying down with no colour is it dead i havenot seen the pylops come out yet either???

what can i do, i mean it was expencive coral so i dont want it 2 die...

please reply asap!!!

Two days, and it has got worse,

Did you change anything like the flow, is it directed at it? if so I would change that and make the flow near it, is it still covered in slime?
Does it react at all to light?
How is the other one doing?
these things can really look dead, ***** corals look completely withered like a dried out plant when they shrink, so maybe leave it another day and see what happens, if it is stress from the move I would leave it alone for as long as possible before any further stress through taking it out and smelling it etc. When they die they sort of melt is there any sign of this?

Sean

hi thx 4 the reply...

i dont think it is dead coz it moves but it dont stand up straight like it was the the shop it is white in colour not pink like it was in the shop, on the crown u can c the holes where the pylops come out but the pylops dont come out. :(:(:(

there is still a bit of slime on it the slime is now coming from the crown where the pylops are, it isa in flow but it is not direct at it.

please help asap.

Michael.

My toadstool and kenya will go through this about every 3-mths, I think they go through a kind of molt, my toadstool is about 12" in diameter sometimes it stands up straight and sometimes it will bend over into the current from my sump return. The kenya will look like its about dead for a few days then a couple of branches stand back up one day, then a few more acouple more days, then all is well, they will drop small braches sometimes to spread out in the tank.

If it is not dead and not disentergrating all your other corals are ok, then I would not worry too much yet, just try to be calm and not move it, time will tell.
