I need to know what's going on with my xenia. It started yesterday and has continued through today. Before yesterday it was perfectly fine. Full bloomage I guess you could say. And now it's been shriveled up like this for two days. Water parameters are good. They are all within range and everything else in the tank is doing perfectly fine. I haven't changed anything. Haven't added anything other than RO for top off. It's been in the tank for a month and never looked like this until just yesterday. Thoughts???

"Good" isn't a water parameter. You will get many more answers if you post them as they are right now, not when your tank is at it's optimum. It's obviously not since you have a problem. Also what lighting do you have?

You say you've only topped off the water over the last month? When was your last water change?

Looks good to me , xenias are like a pest, they always make a comeback , I wouldn't worry about it . I had them before in a 12g nano under standard lighting, no much flow, and seriously some neglect on water changes and they still grew like wild fire.

I actually did a 10% water change two weeks ago.

Ca- 400
Alk- 8.3
Mg- 1320
Phos- the guy said they were pretty much zero
Nitrates- same thing as phos
pH- 8.2
Sg- 1.025
Temp- 79°

Tank is a month and a half old. 20g long. Lighting is the fluval sea marine and reef led light with an actinic blue led strip. HOB marineland penguin 350. Nano koralia 240. Nothing fancy really. Just the basics of a nano.

You can't kill Xenia. You'll be back in a couple months asking how to kill it!

It sometimes acts shriveled for a day or two... I wouldn't worry about it.

Its like the salt water equivalent of a dandelion.

I sure hope so. I know alot of people don't care about xenia. But this particular specimen looked beautiful. And I would definitely love to salvage it if I can.

Well it's been like this for three days. And I looked at it today and one of the stalks split from the other two. It was three and now it's one and two. And the other two look to be doing the same.

Yep... That's what it does. Itbspreads like wildfire and moves to where it wants to be. Its just settling in.
