Is Spa Flex Vacuum Tube Reef Safe? I'm re-doing my sump/fuge and would like to use a more flexible tubing like this. Is it ok to use?

That's what I was hoping but I usually see people using the spa flex that's not vacuum hose. So I just want to be sure.

it looks like the tubing that comes with some of the pre fabbed wet/dry filter systems. if it was me i would get the regular spa flex tubing to be 100 % safe

rt6 used that stuff on a drain and it leaked because he couldnt get it hooked to the bulkhead correctly.

how do you attach that kind of tubing to other fittings?

I hope it doesn't leak but I haven't hooked it up yet. I'm not sure the best way to attach it. I was going to use hose clamps. Anyone else have ideas?

How about pics of a 1.25" spa flex that's good to use?

Thanks!

Don't confuse spa-flex with vacuum tubing. Spa-flex welds just like regular PVC pipe and has the same external dimensions. Check the USA plastics website. They have all sorts of food-grade flexible tubing.

right, i thought spa-flex was flexible pvc, not ribbed vaccum tubing?

since its vaccum tubing its obviously rated for negative pressure from suction right, but what about the pressure from a pump? is it made for that?

I got that stuff at HD. The box the roll was in said "Spa Flex Vacuum Tubing." It's rigid and holds it shape but it's very flexible.

Spa Flex hose works just like pvc except you cannot leave it under pressure. As long as water is flowing through it everything is fine.

Well maybe I don't want to risk using the above hose if no one knows if its safe.

Anyone have a picture of a good kind that Home Depot might carry that I can use?

Thanks
