hey guys is there a cheaper way to get silversides or something like it some where else but a lfs? i went to 3 different orienatal markets and didnt find anything that looked like silver sides. the most closes thing to it was some small frozen smelt, but they were still kinda too big. ive been feeding my freckle hawkfish silversides since i got it, i tried shrimp and it doesn;t show any interest to it. a pack of silversides at the lfs cost 9$. so does anyone know wut are some other fish i can find at the market to try out?

raw shrimp - 5.99(here in Hawaii, so prob. cheaper there) a lb at a grocery store (or super walmart) Just as good. Make sure they are RAW and have no preservatives or anything.

Check Frozen sand eels at your LFS, you can try Frozen Octo & Squid from your grocery store, the oriental markets will carry them as well.

We fed sand eels to a lot of stuff when I was a volunteer at the long beach aquarium. Not sure how much they were getting them for, but a ton of stuff ate them.

they got some sand eels but it was only like a dollar cheaper. im going to try some more markets and hopfully find something.
