i have just moved to reno from az and whant to find a club or something im just geting in to reefing and would like to have some good advice from ppl in the area

I'm Bob and live in Sparks. We have a list of about 10-12 people interested in making Sierra reefers a sucess. I know there are others interested but we have got to organize ourselves first. We've just stated having meeting but were having to regroup and start over. Let's talk and see what you would like to hear and I'll let you know what were up to.

I also live in the reno/sparks area(near meadowood mall in reno) and I would be interested in joining a reef club as well. I don't have much experience, just started thanks to craigslist, but I do want to learn more, and know that Reno needs a reef club.
I have purchased two salt water tanks from craigslist, a 55 gallon acrylic for $200, and recently a 80 gallon acrylic tank set up for salt water without anything for $200, and none of the people I talked to(other tanks and stuff) have known much about reefs and instead too many people here are wasting their money with no knowledge.

My and my GF live in Lemmon Valley. We currently have a 33G and 14G reef set up. I too would be interested in joining a club here in Reno.
I was at Carson Aquarium about 2 weeks ago and walked in about an hour after they had had a meeting. (I had no idea it was even taking place)
And also Matt and his wife the owners of Gills on Moana have made mention of a frag swap.
This is all I know about clubs in our area.

Wow, I have never heard of Carson Aquarium; next time I drive thru, Ill stop by. Also is Gills a restaurant? The only fish store on Moana I know of is Ofishal.

Gills is a new SW and Reef LFS on Moana.
The exact store name is Gills Rock N Reef. They have been open since about Jan-Feb. They are still getting their feet wet (pun maybe intended)
Some quick directions for ya. If you are at Official, along lakeside to Moana and turn East (left) Drive to Virginia and cross virginia and take an immediate right into the strip mall (there is a dry cleaning company next to Gills. Their store front faces Moana.)
When I was in there yesterday they told me there is a Reef club meeting at official some time in the near future. I forgot to get the exact time or date.

Hi,
I had a fun time at the April 7th meeting! Refugiums were discussed, but I am putting my plans for one on hold due to the size of my tank...i.e. a refugium would have to be bigger than what I've seen on the market. The next meeting FYI is in May at gills; please contact me or Sierra Reefer for details.
