Is there a Spring Frag Swap?

I was checking out the announcement forum in RC and saw a list of swaps for the rest of the year, but didn't see the SLASH one there. Any hints on when it will be? :bounce2:

I actually think we're going to try an annual swap instead of a bi-annual. We think it will be a better event with more attraction if we do it once a year instead of twice. Plus we think it will be easier for us to get more support from sponsors with us only bugging them for donations only once a year .

So I leave the hobby... You go to biannual. I come back you go to annual.... What gives. The original annual was in the spring, hopefully that happens. Btw, give aways from sponsors are not necessary for a swap, maybe have a big one, and smaller one???

Good to see interest! Putting on a swap requires a lot of time and planning with a very limited/small group of people. The burnout for our BOD members is pretty high and putting on two of these a year is really just too much with our current list of willing volunteers. One swap in the fall is what the BOD decided for this year, so we can see how it goes I guess. If more folks want to become active participants, then we can look at putting on two a year. As it is now, we have a very small group doing the heavy lifting and it's been too much.

I definitely understand and appreciate all the hard work the BOD puts into this for the benefit of us. I'm just curious, was there better attendance at the fall swap? I only made the spring one due to outside commitments.

I wasn't able to attend the swaps at the new venue, but from the others SLASH swaps I've been to, I can't even imagine the work that goes into each swap. Props to the guys behind the scenes that make this thing happen.

Our window of opportunity has pretty much come and gone. We have a lot of LFS to patronize until the Fall Swap. Perhaps consider running for office.
