Is there a such thing as a nice Mantis?

I have a rather large 2" mantis, he has been in the tank for about 2 years, I have only seen him twice, until yesterday. He never clicks, he is a big chicken - when he sees a fish swim by he runs, I have not lost anything, other than a scotts that got punked out by my maroon and hid and died. I set the trap, those D^&^$ hermits (I hate hermits), kept getting in there, he was spooked by them, he finally went into the trap, grabed the food and left, stupid door was stuck! Anyway, I also have a large (about 1 inch body, not counting the legs, and legs like a tarantula) matix crab that also tried to stick his big claw into the hole, the mantis came up behind him and I am thinking "uh o" you gonna get it, but the mantis ran from him. Now I must admit the crab is scarier and bigger than the mantis counting legs, but he has harmed nothing either, so I live and let live and keep him feed.

So, is there really a such thing as a nice mantis? Oh yeah he has a red body and colored face type of mantis. And again, I NEVER hear him click. Since he is behaving, should I just leave him alone?

his temperment may change with age... and a little tantrum could cause big problems...

i just got a mantis out of my tank about 2 inch i never knew he was there either, but like stated it`ll probably change as its get older or food isnt as available to it.
