Is this a good camera Nikon D3000

I am looking for an inexpensive camera to take some shot of my reef with. I might be aquiring one of these for free. Tell me honestly about this camera. I know nothing.

For free? You cant go wrong with free. The d3000 is a good camera, if you had to pay money I would look into a used d40 to save some coin and get the higher flash sync or d50 and get an auto focus motor. Honestly the lens you use is more important than the camera body. A cheap body with an excellent macro lens and a tripod will let you produce much better images than a new/expensive body and a kit lens.

What macro lens should i buy for it. I did get the camera today. I got two lenses with it. I got a Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm and a
Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm
