Is this a good LED Light? Why so cheap?

LED on eBay

I'm sure its not too good. But I'd like something to come on first before my main lights, and after they turn off. Sort of a dusk/dawn effect...

P.S. Are LED's dimmable?

It could be cheaper parts used in the construction ? I've never used that fixture so I'm not 100% sure of that.

Looks like it doesn't have Cree LEDs in the fixture. That could be a part of the reason. Crees are among the best (IMO) and will cost a little more.

Couple things you may want to consider.
1. Not UL or Ca certified.
2. Only 400 lumens
3. Uses only .6 watt leds The standard now is 3 watt
4. Not dimmable

Take that for what it is worth.

It is designed and marketed as a freshwater fixture really just to provide visible light to the tank. Maybe good for a SW Fish only tank but definitely not for a reef tank.

I have this and please note that this is for freshwater 6500K rating. I am actually using this right now in my 20gal long softie tank. It' been three months and everything seems doing fine, the bleached GBTA my wife bought me is doing good, getting its color back.
