This is actually a 2 part question. The LFS has a 6 in Goldflake Angel. He eats like a pig and is nice and fat. They are selling him for $300 is this a good price? I have been looking around online and see them going anywhere from $200 to $500 but they are listed at 3-4in and this one is at least 6in. Second part of the question is has anyone had a GF and what type of other fish can they be with? I am putting together a FOWLR 300gallon and want to make sure that it would work with a Blue Line Angel, Naso Tang, Porc Puffer, Salfin Tang and a Sohal. None of the fish are in the tank yet but this is the list that I am starting with and yes I know Sohal's can be mean but I have had this one for a year and he hasn't messed with any other fish that he is with. Thanks

Not the lowest if that is what you are asking. However "good" is a variable term. I would always rather buy a healthy fish on the get go for a tad more than buy a borderline health case on the cheap. Everyone wants to find the uber healthy fish for sub wholesale but if that fish is one you want and you have the tank to support it (sounds like you do) then I say go for it. Goldflakes are pretty rare and that price is certainly not bad or out of line.

As far as future tankmates, nothing jumps out at me as awful, but some of those listed are the kind that I prefer to judge on a case by case. (Sohal, Pork Puff) Angels seem to do better if they are not in the same genus but again, varies w' the individual. If you have a secondary tank or somewhere else to put a troublemaker that would make it a safer decision.

Hope this helps...

Thanks guys. I think I will offer $250 but I will still probaly pay $300 because he looks awesome and eats like a pig. What type of agression am I looking at?? Something along the lines of a Emperor or more like a Majestic???

I'd say the price is in line. If you want a goldflake angel and it appears to be the perfect specimen, buy it. Mine was listed at $349 - I asked if the price was firm and the gal came down 20%. As far as larger angels go they are wimps. Mine is with a small yellow tang, rabbitfish, butterfly, flame and solar wrasse. I think your list sounds fine except for the sohol (extremely mean) and with caution for the blue line.
