Is this brown algae diatom?

Recently notice my rock started to grow brown.
My tank had completed its cycle a week ago and i have a pair of juvenile clownfish currently doing fine.

Is this a brown algae diatom outbreak? If it is, how should i handle it?

Let it run its course. It will brown out then turn green. The start of the ugly stage. A good CUC will take care of most of it.
What type of rocks do you have?

i was told by my LFS it is an indonesian LR, ive heard scrubbing it off and doing water changes would help? i cutrently dont have a CUC cause during cycle i didnt have an outbreak so i was worried on starving them

You dont even need a cuc honestly. My first tank i made the mistake of bothering to tailor my cuc to eat diatoms. Dont bother imho. It goes away in a couple months and youll be facing gha before your cuc can even make a dent.
WC does help from what i understand but not in my experience. Tank looks like its cycling well id just wait to do wc until nitrates stop rising and nitrite is 0.

Also if you want to make the same mistake as me, cerith snails work wonders on diatoms and they are gorgeous. (Its just hard to keep them alive if you dont have film, slime or diatom algae. (They do not touch gha at all)

Also definitely DO NOT waste time scrubbing it off. It will just stay in water column (i guess you could wc right awat to get it out). But that is a lot of work and a waste of time.

If you are just wanting to try growing something (i always get the itch to do more tank stuff than i should), try putting a macro in! They thrive in high nutrient environments, are a good way to test out lights and are a great form of filter to get established ahead of time (also copepods!).

Don't scrub or do anything. Like i said let it run its course. It will turn green and the uglies will come to play. Anything from gha, to cyano, slime in some cases. It's part of a young tank.
And cuc comes much later. If you do get some you can feed them nori. Patience is the best thing in this hobby.
