Is this dino???

Sorry for the not so great pics, but is this a Dino outbreak in my tank? The algae is brown and has air bubbles trapped in it. Top pick is supposed to show it mostly covered in tiny bubbles. Bottom picture there is a large group of air bubbles they kept getting washed out by the light, every time I took the pic.

I also think there is green hair algae growing...

Alright, I tried to do a 3 day lights out on my tank but only made it a day. The tank was overheating and that was with the heater off. So I had to unwrap the tank.

All of the bubbles were gone, but the algae grew longer. Im still unsure what it is and I would like to get this taken care of before it gets out of control.

I should also mention that all of this algae has started on my new Pukani dry rock. I put it thru the curing process and by the end of 6 weeks my water quality was reading 0 on Phosphates, Ammmonia, Nitrate and Nitrite. So I started this tank up.

Here are a few more pics, to hopefully help out. Last pic you can see how much it has covered that rock.

I soaked the rocks in water and gave them a bath in muriatic acid. I probably didn't soak them long enough in the acid, mostly because I was afraid of the water spilling over and I didn't want the rocks to melt away.

I started the cycle on my tank on October 11, 2016, with the fishless method. The tank cycled and I had zero readings in ammonia, nitrites, and phosphates. Nitrates were through the roof, so I did water changes until that dropped below 10.

I got a brown algae bloom on the rocks and the sand. I threw a few Astrea Snails and it appeared that they cleaned the rocks. Then I did a water change and the bloom came back, but the snails couldn't keep up.

The algae is brown and has grown longer and hair like. I checked my rodi water and it read zero for phosphates. I still have less than 10 nitrates in the tank.

I started dosing 1/16 teaspoon of yeast and have done 3 doses in 6 days. Today is day 7 and I havent noticed much of a difference. Thinking of upping my cleaning crew since I barely have any and maybe get a lawnmower blenny.

I know rhat algae outbreaks can happen, so I am not too worried.

I agree, I know Im still in the ugly phase of the tank, but Im just a little worried that it could be something nasty. I could probably use a few more snails in my tank, to help out the other 5, but they dont really seem to be touching it anymore. I continually place them on the rocks that are the worst, just to try to tempt them. They usually just crawl off the rock. The hermits dont touch it at all. My substrate is doing well since I do have a Diamond Goby.

I upgraded to this tank after my rock was cured out. So I have all the corals and fish that were in that tank now in this one. I just dont want to loose any of it so Im just a little worried is all.

Just an update.

This must have been part of the ugly phase. 95% of this has disappeared from the tank. The majority of it happened over this past weekend. Im glad it was nothing serious and is taking care of itself.

Good to hear. Curious if your still doing yeast or how long you did it for? Do you think that had something to do with your results?

That wasnt me, doing anything with yeast.

The only thing I did was add new GFO, Carbon, and 5 new snails. The snails are taking care of the remaining algae.

Gotcha. I recently had some ugly on the sandbed, just added a few more snails and did a large water change and done.

I have seen a few comments about yeast, but nobody ever saying anything for results.
