Is this gig dyed??

Saw this guy at my LFS, the distributor had it listed as haddoni but obviously it's not. The color looks off to me though and it doesn't look from bleaching. As you can see it needs treatment ASAP and my LFS is selling it for 100 bucks but I'm weary about it. Just got in my 14" red/pink haddoni and green (bleached) gig today. The gig looks really healthy just bleached probably from lack of light like the owner said. I'd love to hear some thoughts on this gig as it won't last long.

Based on the look of its mouth and the oral disk it looks like a bleaching Haddoni. It will do better in a reef and $100 is not bad at all for an electric green Haddoni.

I thought the same thing too based on the color of it's mouth but the length of the tentacles throw me off. Had different reactions from a few retailers and friends. I just placed a huge pink/red haddoni (it's amazing) and a green gigantea (a bit bleached but extremely healthy went through treatment at retailer) so I'm going to pass. Doesn't look in great condition I hope it does well. Thanks for the replies

Another reason I thought it was a gig is because I saw some hard "rat poop" next to it's mouth as you can see closely in the picture. That rat looking poop doesn't happen with haddoni right?

Hi,

What you're explaining is zooxanthellae algae, this is a clear sign of a sick anemone that needs treatment immediately.

I agree with the bleached haddoni ID.

Never seen that before but have read articles of reefers stating their carpet was expelling zooxanthellae. Thanks for the info :)
