We recently purchased a new piece of live rock and the plant growth on them has doubled in size. What are they and are they fine to keep in the tank?

Thanks,

The red may encroach on local corals shading them. The bryopsis should definately go be careful it can be spread easily with just a tiny piece.

I do like the red though so I would consider it desireable and maybe just move it or keep it pruned.

Thanks, I like the red one as well. It's in a fine spot for now I guess, just kind of blocking some xenia but we have so much xenia i actually hope it kills it haha.

thats some gorgeous macro. nice score man :)
watch out for the second macro. someone gave me a tank with some of that growing on the glass... i scrubbed the glass and it spread everywhere!!!

I remember seeing that rock. They had a bunch of live rock with some type of lps on it, it looked like small wellsophyllia. It looked nice, but loaded with different micro and macro-algaes

Yeah they have had a bunch like that. lately Ours had a decent sized wellsophyllia on it. Here is a photo when we first got it 7-28-06. It's hiding behind the macroalgae now.
