Is this Heater any good?

NOOOO!!!!! That fish cue heater is a POS. I bought one from Marinedepot and got it two days ago. The heater controller unit looks like junk and the readout is 4-5 dgress off.

Look at the reviews for the 250W one, there are bad. I am sending mine back and got a Jager and a seperae digital little fish temp guage

then why are the reviews of the 150w so good and why not just set it 4-5 degrees off so that its right?

So your saying to just set it for the right degrees and not care what the display says. Sure, that would work. However, why pay the extra money for the fancy digital display if it doesnt even work.

Also, besides the display....the unit itself is made of really cheap looking plastic and the nob for the adjustment temperature feels cheap....IMO I dont think that it was worth the money, so I sent it back and got a Jager and seperate digital temp....

I have the cheaper Aqua Medic controller 1 inlet 1 outlet. 1000watt capacity, I plugged a powerstrip into the outlet, I have my 2 heaters plugged into that, and yes it sez, 1* plus or minus, mine read 1* higher 79* but my Hanna Temp probes is 78* which I trust.

I bought one of the ranco controllers.

Good job. I have one and love it. Two levels of failsafe: controller + heater
