Today I noticed some spots on my purple firefish. Is it ICH? If not then what is it? Thanks

Looks like flukes. Freshwater dip with a bit of Hydroplex for 3-4 minutes. You should see them bubble up off the tissue by minute #3

Flukes. Make a Freshwater dip by buffering some RO/DI water to match the pH of your tank (you can accomplish this by using baking soda, alkalinity buffer, or something like pH 8.2 by API). The temperature needs to be consistent with that of your tank as well. You can choose to add additional medication to facilitate the removal of the flukes--as aforementioned hydroplex works great as does praziquantel (also known as Prazi-Pro by Hikari). Dip the affected fish for 1-3 minutes while monitoring them to ensure the fish doesn't stress out too much, if the fish starts thrashing or otherwise acting erratic remoeve it immediately and try again in a few days.. Most fish can be dipped easily and wont have any problems. Flukes are very easy to get rid of if you catch it before they infest the fish. You may need to dip the same fish multiple times (with a few days resting time between dips) in order to get rid of all the flukes..

Its hard to tell. In my opinion it just looks like a trauma. Flukes are hard to see with the eye so I doubt its a fluke.

Can can see them moving on the fish, or they appear to be in different spots? Could be a fluke....But usually you don't see them. Do a prazi pro treatment. You can use that in your main tank but it will kill worms.

Also any ideas on how to catch him so i can give him a freshwater dip? Everytime I put the net in he swims under the rocks.

A trap would be the only thing I can think of. You can use prazi in your main tank unless you have ornamental worrms.

I just gave her a freshwater dip and about 3/4 of the worms fell off. I'm gonna wait a few days and then do another dip with hydroplex.
