Broklynella... mine too died recently coz of it.. its also called marine velvet, and its almost impossible to cure.
Neither is correct. Velvet, Amyloodinium ocellatum, and brook, Brooklynella hostilis are two totally different parasites. velvet is best treated by Chloroquine phosphate whereas brook is treated with formalin dips.
setup a hospital tank and add seachem cupramine..
No. Copper is not effective with either.
dont add in maintank or u will never be able to add inverts or corals in it. Dont add any fish in the tank for 3mnths or you will keep killing every fish u buy. Thus parasite dies when there is no host for 72days. Currently im doing the same. Jus keep testing the water once a week to once in 2 weeks.
No. If you are using copper, you should test daily at a minimum.
I learnt my lesson after 8yrs of this hobby. I never faced velvet before. My clowns died in jus 24hrs after noticing it and i too dint have a spare tank. I almost had tears in my eyes as i was helpless and cudnt save them and saw both die right in front of me. Best of luck.
