I don't have a tank setup yet,but I am in the research part.I have been learning about aw tanks for a couple years now and will be setting one up in a few months or atleast starting to buy things to start one up.It will be a 75 or 90 gallon.Anyway I am intrested in having an lps tank and was wondering about lighting.I do not want to have MH if I don't have to.I found this lighting system on www.drsfostersmith.com and was wondering if it would be good for the size of tank I want or if I would need more.

I would HIGHLY recommend browsing through some T5 forums, theres a handfull of threads floating around currently, some in the lighting and equipment forum, but all of your answeres will be found there. The inefficiency of the Nova counteracts the savings you get innitially. A high quality setup Id say you more than likely will have too much light but being a Nova without the use of individual reflectors the light may be tolerable but youll find that the lack of spacing will cause more light refraction within the unit as well as heat which will inturn shorten the life of the bulbs and or proper coloration/spectrum. With a high end unit only 6 bulbs at most would be needed even then the corals will need to be acclimated slowly to the light.

Without the utilization of the individual reflector there no more than a HO PC IMHO. Good luck and happy reading :)
