Is this normal?

I put several pepermint shrimp into my tank a few weeks ago.. and I have not seen any of them since.

Do they normally stay out of sight?

I have not looked at the tank at night for a while either.

What else do you have in your tank?

I put a peppermint in my tank and I haven't seen him in weeks. I think something (skunk cleaner/brittle star) might have killed him.

I had a pair in mine, the only way I knew they were still alive was because the aptisia's were disappearing. They hung out behind a rock all day long and only came out at night. Once a month, maybe, I would see them out patroling during the day hours. Feed the tank, do they come out?

They do not come out when I feed the tank. Again, I have not looked when the lights are out yet.

The other occupants include;

1 percula clown
1 firefish goby
1 eibli angelfish - that does not pick at corals thankfully
1 six line wrasse
3 emeral crabs
assorted hermits and snails

1 condy anemone
3 BTAs ( PM me if you want one.. they keep splitting )

other than those items, I have a bunch of corals, but nothing that should affect shrimp for any reason.

When I moved this last summer I found 2 peppermint shrimp when I took my tank down. I hadn't seen a peppermint shrimp in my tank for over a year, I had assumed that they died long ago. They were just very stealthy I guess.

They are very secretive and are really good at hiding, but I'm wondering if your wrasse had an free all you can eat shrimp dinner ;)

I think I have two in my tank. I see one maybe once a month (never both at the same time). As long as I don't see any aptasia in my tank, I figure they're alive.

I have been keeping a special eye out when I feed and have tried several different types of food (that make the rest of the tank go nuts lol) Brine, Mysis, Flake, Algae, Silversides, and Blackpowder.. over the course of several days. Still no shows. I will have to stay up late one night this weekend and have a look.

I cant really use aptasia as a guide, whether thats fortunate or unfortunate... I have only ever seen one small aptasia in my tank and that was some time ago. The tank is a 55 and has probably 100ish lbs of rock. so there is plenty of room to hide.
