Is this some disease?

Hi,

Saw this on my bicolor this morning.

Can anybody ID ? or is it some scratchings or salt deposits from a rock?

Theu look like crystal flakes.

The fish must have been injured there. It appears to be fungal which is rare in saltwater fish. I would treat in quarantine with Furanase which contains Nifurpirinol. Do not substitute another product. Nifurpirinol is your best bet against a fungal infection. I would also get some Beta glucan and add it to the food to enhance immune function.

This may be a little off the wall, but I am wondering if you see any change in the growths? Are they getting larger or spreading? It almost looks like bristles from a type of bristle worm. Notice that the lesions are in rows with a space between the rows.

Tks Terry,

They appeared overnight (just after a water change). Would a fungus infection be that fast? Also they do not appear to have gotten worse today.

I know i have a bristleworm(s) but the one I saw appears to be from the friendly kind - would they also sting fish?
