Is this some type of algae?

Or is it some type of LPS? I just noticed this on a shell in two places. It appears to be 'hairy', as the current will make it sway. The individual hair-like tentacles aren't very long at all.

Looks lik a coral to me. Maybe an sps, possibly a monti or maybe a pavona judging by what look to be ridges. Hard to tell by the pic.

I'll try to get a better pic tonight. I thought it was a coral as well. There is some vague 'resemblance' of a pattern throughout it's shape.

Try Pavona or Leptoseris. Those seem to be pretty common hitchhikers that can be hairy.
