I was thinking of putting some blue foam. Like you use to put under the tank, under my pump in the sump. Is this stuff safe to use to quiet the vibrating from my pump? If not any recomendations on what i could do.
I can't give you a for sure yes or no.. I would say probably not but I for sure wouldn't do it. What pump are you using? Should be to much vibration in the sump.

Very good idea and much safer. I would be hesitant to use any styrofoam in the tank. In time, it has a tendency to break down into finer pieces. Furthermore, you don't know if it contains any mold inhibitors, etc. Best to keep it out of the water.
i have the white foam under my mag 9.5, i change it uot every 2-3 months with no problems at all. with my last pump i had i put a piece of flexable pipe going from the pump to the pipe only a couple of inches between them is all you need. that helped cut down on the vibrating sound from the pump too.
