Is this this normal for a Blue Tang's face?

Is this this normal for a Blue Tang's face? It just looks odd to me and I want to make sure there isn't some sort of problem.

ok. I couldn't find any old photos of it so I couldn't be sure how new it is or not, but I first noticed this about a month ago. My best guess is something due to nutrition since I have been having to travel a lot recently leaving my fish with an automated feeder and flakes (mix of Cyclop Eeze, Formula One, and Prime Reef). I am planning to get some Selcon to put on its frozen food now. And there is some nori in the tank for it now too. So hopefully the better nutrition will fix whatever this is.

Not sure what you are referring to. If it is all those bumps and dimples near the mouth that is 100% normal. Not sure what the proper term is for it but every hippo I have seen has some type of dimples near the mouth.

are most that dark on the front though? I will admit the dots on the face were what originally got my attention, but then looking at photos online I saw those a lot. When I did not see was a dark face on any. Just genetic variation? Transition from young to old? As I said I don't have any old photos from when I got it a year ago, but I just know that it suddenly seemed to look differently there.

i would lean towards nutrition as well. increase the diet and monitor the water parameters closely and it should help
