I have a Black & White Heniochos (Heniochus Acuminatus )butterfly fish that was swimming really close and bumping my lager blue tang. Evidently the spine the comes out on the side(near the caudal fin) of the tang clipped the back side near the bottom of the tall dorsal fin on the butterflyfish which caused a small cut or tear in the dorsal fin. The butterfly fish seems to be acting normal and still is very active and eating as usual. My problem is that right above the cut small black spots have started to appear. The spots are not found anywhere else on the fish. Over the past couple days the black spots have moved from the cut area up the dorsal fin…probably about a ¼†away from the cut now. I was curious if there is some sort of treatment, or is it possibly a parasite. I searched a little on the internet but most information is not 100% of my exact scenario and I do not want to mistreat the symptoms at hand. Any suggestions on what could possibly be occurring and a valid solution to the problem would be greatly appreciated.
