issue with chaeto

my cheato is turning lime green and alittle white

my tank is ten gallons. my phos is .04 2 nitrate

im useing reefbreeders refugium lihgt that is 10 red leds and 2 blue ones

also my display tank is ten gallons with one fish and some snail and my refugium is ten gallons

What is the issue?

Terrestrial plants use mostly red and blue spectrum to grow. When light enters the water, most of the red spectrum is gone in the first 10'. IMO, you are very light on the blue spectrum with your LED lamp. Unless your Chaeto is getting soft and mushy, I would assume that it is responding to the heavy emphasis on red spectrum and it will be ok,

You did not ask for a recommendation, but I will give you one. Replace your LED bulb with a CFL at 5000 Kelvin. I get mine from Home Depot for $9. It is 24W,
not incandescent equivalent wattage, at 1100 luminous.

He could also be bleaching it. Is the light stronger than what was on there before? You could back it up a little to make it so its not too intense. Also, your bio load is very light so you may not get a whole lot for nutrients to feed the chaeto. Low nutrients and high light, I'm leaning towards it being bleached and starved. Try a second fish in there that will be ok in a 10 gallon.

that makes sense cuz i think my lighting is strong.

i thought the red plus a couple blue was the best spectrum, is the bulb from home depot really better?
