Hi All

I am saying good bye to this forum...
I really support the use of our own forums now so I will only use those...

My only posts here will be to direct others to our club forums...

I just dont like having to double check both places to keep up with club posts!

I hope all of you will follow....and....Lets start using the chat interface!
It is awsome and JB along with the BOD has done a great job of giving this option to the club.

Peace out Gangsta. Didn't realize it was such a hassle to use two forums.

I don't even see the point in having two forums though, if it ain't broke no need to fix it. This one works fine for me.

its more customizable, things can be changed on our own forum. its a lot better as far as organization goes.

this forum is hard to find things, no sub sections or anything. i like having everything spread it nice and neat like the girs forum.

i would use the girs forum primarily if other people posted more, its hard to reply to posts that don't exist yet.

however, people will always be here so... you wont be lonely.

Eins, thanks for the support man! And just to be clear on this I am not asking anyone to "turn their backs on RC" or never post here again, all I am asking for is your support in keeping our own forums active.

I agree and me too. I know it is not broke but why not have something better. If our club is going to have our own site with our own forum it'd be silly not to use it.

one of the big benefits of our own forums is no silly post count rule before you sell something!

I think the post count is a good rule actually. Otherwise there would be people bouncing up here to sell something once or just collect the money and run. There would be no accountability at all. The post count rule at least makes an attempt of solving this situation since it can't have the protections of EBay. I know I get nervous when I buy something here more than Ebay. On out site it will pretty much always be people we know so the risk is greatly reduced. I will always try to sell there first.

I agree that the post count rule is a good thing here on RC, but I don't think it makes as much sense for a local club. Buying/selling/trading is a great way to get people involved in the club more and I'd hate to exclude someone from that just because they are a lurker and not an avid forum poster.

The idea of the buy/sell/trade forum on our website is not to replace selling of stuff here on RC, but rather to enhance it.

1) It gives the newer people a place to sell stuff to the local audience without having to be an active participate on RC.

2) It gives a place for people to put up their posts in a place where they won't scroll off the home page in 1 day. RC is so active sometimes that important posts and items for sale tend to scroll into oblivion before you know it.

Personally, if I had something for sale I'd just post it in both places. Afterall, once you've typed up the message once, how long does it take to copy and paste it somewhere else?
