Hi. I'm new here and will post appropriate information soon, but in the meantime can you please tell me if this BTA is dying? Thanks.

It doesn’t look terrible but not looking fantastic. The mouth is tight and it’s upright though not on the rock work which is a little odd

There are times when he will shrink like the pics on purpose. Mine looks like that when feeding, but back in an hour, and never leaves his spot. Mine looks like that when expelling stuff, but back in a few hours.
If he stays like that, then you likely have a water chemistry issue.

Would need more info on history to diagnos.

Thank you so much. Unfortunately, I took him out. He was half gone this morning and refused to eat. I did a bigger WC Saturday and replaced the carbon, that's when he really took a turn. :( I feel horrible but I was stressing watching him losing the fight. I kept feeling like if he would only hang on (which I think he did try) but he was getting worse by the day. I was afraid he would end up nuking my tank.

Thank you. The tank has been running for four months. I got this one as a freebie and tried really hard to defy the odds.
Ok. I would give it another try. But first I would allow the tank to mature some. BTA chances of survival are increase as the mature tank. You gave it a great try. Keep your head up.
