Jade Torch issues?

I'm not sure if my Jade Torch is having problems. I notice some of the tentacles split and branch off... im assuming this is normal. But ive also noticed they get a bit "gristled" where it splits. Some of the tentacles are just gristled, without splitting.

Also, I noticed last night one of the tentacles got "eaten". I guess it got too close to a button polyp, and the polyp closed up, with the tentacle still in its mouth.

Do this things ever split? Mine has one head, though i would say that the fleshy part of it is about 3" in diameter. My calcium is good... what do i do to make more heads?

Mine has six heads and three of them are currently splitting. They will stretch and then split, similar to an anemone
