Japanese Leather Fragging

We have been wanting to frag out our Japanese leathers for a while but we're nervous about harming them. Anyone have any advice or experience with doing this?

This photo is a year old so they are larger now.

I would guess like any other leather..just slice a piece off and fix it to a rock or disk. I have a few different green polyp leathers..i dont have this one but they all seem to heal up just fine. My largest ones actually frag themselves..they get big and heavy and pinch baby buds off that drop into the sand. Amazing leathers by the way..i love both of them.

I have fragged mine just like the common sacopyhon cut of a piece. I would keep some polyps in both pieces for quicker recovery.

Frag like regular toadstools, I prefer to use rubber bands to mount mine to plugs or discs. Then PM me when ya have some!!! I would like to try a few of these out in the greenhouse...

Beautiful leathers btw,
Joshua

Yes, Like Big Tuna said, use rubberbands to attach them to plugs. They will attach themselves eventually. Make sure the rubberbands are on just tight enough to hold them on. DO NOT let the bands get too much pressure, or the leathers will split where the bands hold them. Don't even bother gluing leathers, They will not stick if they don't want to.

In case you are wondering how I know, it's because I just fragged my toadstool and the best method is the loose rubberband just to hold them in place.
