Jawfish compatibility question

I currently have a yellowhead jawfish and four cardinals (3 pajamas, one ruby) in a 12x30" 37g. The tank has a very open design with all rockwork on the back and sides and a 4-5" dsb, so, most of the bottom is open space. I originally wanted a pair or multiple jawfish, but, having already lost one jawfish...found its way to the carpet via slide to the sump and out...I'm now reconsidering multiples and perhaps going with a goby/shrimp pair instead.

Will the goby/shrimp and the jawfish be compatible in this size tank, or, will it be a constant battle? I really like the pinkbar (Amblyeleotris aurora) or the randalls (A. randalli) with a candystripe pistol shrimp, but, would reconsider for a better match. This is a pic of the tank;

I think two jawfish in that sized tank would only work if they are a mated pair. I am also skeptical of a jawfish and goby sharing the tank as well. You could try it knowing that one fish or the other may have to be re-homed.

I have both a goby/shrimp and a jawfish in my tank but it's 8' long. :) Both fish are among my favorites. I love them.
