what setting do you all have your wave maker set at and do you get good results i just have mine both on all the time i dont think the pumps are strong enough to make waves

The JBJ won't make waves with any type of pump, but it will oscillate your water flow quite nicely.

I would start out with it on the fastest setting and see if you like it. I definitely prefer it faster oscillating.

I use a Red Sea Wavemaster Pro and it has some settings that are a bit more advanced than the JBJ (that isn't necessarily a big deal though)--- it has "calm", "medium" and "turbulent" and "all 3".

In the end, the 4th setting ends up being "random" water flow because the changes vary throughout the day, which I love. I actually also use it on my freshwater planted tank since it sits very close to my nano.

I've messed with a large variety of settings. Done the 1 minute intervals, 2 min, 5 min etc. Found that the stock pumps don't seem to like the constant stop and starts from the wavemaker so now I have them both on constantly.

Put a couple of Hydor rotators on the outtakes too. The coral and fish seem to like the random--and inexpensive--flow.
