Jebao DC3000 or DC6000 on 75g

That guy...
I'm looking at using a Jebao DC pump for my new 75g setup. I've read some good stuff on this pump and would like to purchase one. My setup will have about 4ft of head height and my concern is will the DC3000 be powerful enough or do I need the DC6000? Anyone have experience with either of these pumps in a similar application?

Thanks!

I just put a 6000 on my 75g I am just starting out and don't know much but I have it cranked up full blast and my overflow handles it just fine. If I had it to do again I would probably get a dc-9000. Just so I can run other things off of it. I can't seem to get an answer on how much flow they really produce. The 6000 is rated at 1585 gph but someone said they are really only about 600. I don't know if that's right or not.

...I have it cranked up full blast...

I've read that they whine at full speed. Can you hear yours? One of the main things that attracted me to this pump was the low/no noise feature. Can you run the pump at a point where it doesn't make noise (or you can barely hear it) and still get good flow in the tank (~375 gph)?

...and my overflow handles it just fine...

How many gph is your overflow rated for?

I can hear the pump run but, it's the only one I have ever heard because this is my first set up so I don't have anything to compare it to. I don't have my stand skin on yet and you can't hear it over the tv. I can't hear it until I get right next to it. If I had my stand skinned I don't think i would hear it at all.

I don't know exactly what my overflow is rated at. I have a bean animal drain with 1" plumbing. Maybe 1200-1500 gph. I have to close my gate valve off some so I know it isn't at full capacity.

I have the 6000 on a 75g. It's cranked all the way up but it's pushing 5+feet of head. It does produce a whine but I can live with it. I wouldn't get the 3000.

I have a DC6000 on my 75g. Not at full power and absolutely silent?
I have ordered a DC12000 that I'm going to use to replace the 6000 because I am installing a manifold to add an ATF and my BRS reactors. I'd rather go big and dial down. More flexibility.
I'd go the 6000 vs 3000.

I'm running a 12k on my 150g. So ya that means I'd probably run a 6k on a 75g. But ya the 12k is a lot of flow. I got a 9000 Jebao too, for my 180 gallon coral syystem.

The Jebao pumps have been quiet for me so far. The water moving through the system will cover up the noise of any pumps anyway.

I have both the dcs3000 and the dcs6000...if you're adding a manifold go higher..I added one and just upgraded to a dcs9000 on my 50. Now I have 2 spare pumps.

Not quite apples to apples (not sure it could get any closer) but I have Waveline 6000 on a 75g with a refugium and I run it on the 3rd lowest setting (any higher and my macros would pull out of the sand). Depending on your setup/goals, the 6000 will be more than enough to run the tank and a couple other items. The Waveline does produce audible noise even at the low power level and I doubt the Jebao is any quieter. It isnt annoying but it is far from silent. It is louder than my skimmer (Bubble Magus Curve 5) and similar to the fans in the Kessil A360s (something to compare them too if you have either). With the stand doors closed, I hear the PP8 powerheads over the DC6000.

I have the 6000 on my 75g with a tee fitting to run a UV also. It's on the second lowest setting and super quiet.

6000 hands down.. keep it turned low/quiet and always have the ability to run reactors,etc.. later if you wish..
