Jebao return pump

I pulled up my tank camera this morning before the lights came on...

This was a mistake :D

my Jebao 6500 Looks like its shooting flames (like car exhaust flames) 2 to 4 directions about every half second.

I expect the directions and period are mostly the cheap camera refresh and that its probably just IR sensitive and the Flames are not Real.

Mrs. says she didn't see anything troublesome when she checked it.

Anyone else notice flashing pump light effects or am I just special?

I’ve never seen or heard of this. Would be interested in seeing the video.

I wonder if something in the water is fluorescing in the strong magnetic fields put out by the pump. The cameras see stuff humans cant like all the images of northern light in the sky on Facebook.

thats wild. I have a jebao 4 head auto doser that came with my last setup that I haven't been brave enough to use yet...

I have multiple Jebao pumps from 4000 to 10,000 liters per hour and wave makers of different sized and types. They are as good or better than Sicce, Tunze, Vortechs and other brands some of which I regret buying.
Simplicity pumps are good too. They seem like a Jebao pump but have a warranty if you need that. 2 year prorated.
The number in the name is GPH and not LPH like Jebaos.

My doser is a Bubble Magus that has run for years with a few head replacements. I have a 3 head with a 4 head add on and run 6 channels. I used to add NO3PO4X with the 7th. I dont use that anymore,
Premium Aquatics has Simplicity pumps and replacement BM doser heads. Lots of stuff. They are a valuable bookmark to make. My Hydros stuff comes from there as well frozen food for the fish.

video of video...
first the tank cam (cheapo) with all lights off.
then pan over to the tank/sump/pump area, lights off
lights on
pan back over to tank camera with lights on.

the first part is what i saw this morning.

other than alien lights, the only issue I've with the Jebaos is that they don't keep the overflow U tubes (PF-1200 HOB Overflow - Eshopps) full.

Wow, that's weird. I've never seen anything like that. I wonder if @wvned might be onto something with the water fluorescing from the magnetic field?

Only the camera can see it?
Real arcing would be quite bright. Bubbles would rise from it.
I am sure these are brushless motors so there is nothing to arc anyway. It has to be minerals in the water reacting to magnetic fields as the controller pulses them on and off. Lots of ions in our water.
Apparently it may be UV only visible because you have night camera capability.

Thats good to hear. I considered a vortech for this system (return pump) but for now am using the hygger I received with my old system and I actually really like how adjustable it is from the control panel in my 'storage' cabinet. I have always seen hygger as low end based on my amazon experience but so far so good. The only Tunze product I have is my macro reactor which TimFish had recommended I not use, and my experience with it matched his comments. It plummeted a very nice parameter fitting tank to zero nitrates in 2 days. I have and probably will toy with it on a timer running it only for a few hours at night down the road though because despite the harm it did to nitrates, the water was absolutely crystal clear amazing.

My skimmer is a bubble magus, so far no complaints although skimmers are still sort of a foreign idea in general to me. Definitely filled the collection cup with some garden fertilizer though.

yeah, once the Mrs verified she couldn't see anything going on, I was much less concerned...
