jebo 520 skimmer

i am gettin one tomromow, i have the same question as u but o well i needed a skimmer asap, and this is the cheapest large size i can find, couln't find any usefull info online on it either

Not a bad skimmer for the price. But if you do put in a sedra 3500/5000, it will skim like an asm.

i currently use the jebo 150, but i'm about to upgrade, and it works quite effectively on my 60 gal

I bought one off of ebay that came with a pump. After figuring out how to adapt the plumbing, I started it up. The pump is not a needlewheel, but it skims very well. I don't think you can do better for a $100.

Kenfuzed has a modded Jebo Skimmer 520. Last I remeber he was trying to sell it.

Good Luck

how did u get it to work? i just bought it on friday, now i already got the the pump to go in the skimmer, but somehow the wastes doesn't get high enough to go up the collection cup, how did u get urs to work?

You need to raise the height of the discharge or put a gate valve on it. I used a ball valve, but it is hard to make fine adjustments.

Actually I never got around to doing the mod and still have the new skimmer sitting here. If anyone is interested I'll pass it along cheap. It has a larger pump than the ebay one.

I run the Jebo 520. It's the first skimmer that I've ever run and I'm not sure how well it works compared to the other, more popular brands, but my tank parms are in-line and my critters are happy.

The skimmer sits on a stand, outside my sump. I adapted the metric pvc to american std sizes with flex-tube and clamps. I originally had a 1" ball valve on the output side to adjust the water level in the skimmer but after it broke in, I found that I did not need this and I could make the necessary adjustments via the air-valve. I find that the venturi seems to clog easily. So I stop it for about 1 min and restart it once every day or so as I'm doing my daily tank maintenance.

I'm sure that there are better skimmers on the market but this one met my needs for about $100, including the pump.

Hope this helps!
