I have brown algae growing on most of my dead coral rocks, and on the upper parts of the walls. is this regular algae or diatom breakout? Sorry i can't get pics no camera..

I had that problem when i first setup my tank with dead base rock and it eventually went away, Are you cycling? if you are it most likely will go away when you are done.

i set it up the first thursday of january of this year so, about a little more then 3 weeks, and i used dechlorinated water then added the salt

For that time frame it sounds like it would be a normal diatom outbreak, though RO/DI would be a good choice.

Reverse Osmosis / Di-ionized.

Simple answer, it is a filter for your tap water, takes out all the bad things and leaves you with pure water.

For a 75 gallon per day unit (( which in the long run is the most cost effective unit to get )) anywhere from $100 -$200. Will worth it if you consider the amount of money put into the tank and its inhabitants.

Any of the RC sponsors would be a good place to look. They would be glad to set you up with a unit that would fit your needs.
