I love getting stuff for my tank, I got new lights 3 weeks ago. I replaced a Chinese Black Box with an Ocean Revive Arctic T247 and sadly I burned up about half of my acans. Be careful with new lights, if they're anything like my new ones over the old ones they can kill your corals really very fast. The corals that survived looked like crap and were all but dead, some of them only had a fluorescence glow with blues on and I kept them even though they didn't have any flesh left on them. Now three weeks later after I've got the lights adjusted properly they've grown back and look even better than they did with the CBB.

Just wanted to make you aware of this as LED lights don't appear to be as bright or as powerful as they really are. I learned my lesson the hard way.

Enjoy your new lights!

Thanks!! I'm thinking going from two Marsaqua 165w 3" above the water running 30% is stronger than starting these at 35% 8" above the water. I've got it set on acclimation mode so we shall see!

When I had the CBB basically Mars Aqua, I ran it at 100% blues and 60% whites, so I figured with the new light to set them to 60% blues and 40% whites would be good. Well na, it wasn't. I wound up starting at 40% blues and 5% whites, these whites are super bright, don't know the PAR readings but you can just tell they're very powerful, as also proven by my melted corals.

Now it's rocking along at 65% blues and 20% whites and I'll probably bump both up 5% today after they come on and watch carefully how they respond. I can tell you this, my corals are growing so much faster than with the CBB it's not even funny. I'm so glad that I finally decided to get a quality LED fixture for my tank.

My lights were and are set to 13" above the water. Just wanted to warn you to be careful with them and hopefully you don't lose corals like I did.

I wanted to add I run my blues from 5am to 7pm and whites from 8am to 3pm. This seems to be working well for my tank.

Hi there. I am stepping up from a 30g reef tank to a 100 g setup. I am currently running a CBB LED light that i got off Amazon and prettty pleased with it, and my corrals have grown so much thats why i need a bigger tank. I saw a guy here at a yard sale with a 300g tank and he was running the Ocean Revive and a couple other LEDs and said he was pleased, so i bought 2 for my new tank. Its 36w 30d and think about 20 thick. My question is as i havent played with them, but on the programming. I did plug one in and saw 2 channels but unlike my current CBB which has potentiometer controls for blue and white as well as seperate power cables for both lights so you could set different timers. I never have done that but run the lights at 100 blue and about 40 to 50% . Any suggestions or where to look about programming these lights. I am completely changing everything and 1st time running a sump setup so kind of apprehensive. Also., suggestions about heaters and in tank or insump ank what wattage? I am thinking insump just to have a cleaner setup in the tank.
