Just dosed Interceptor Spectrum

So one of my friends hooked me up with some interceptor spectrum, it contains the active ingredients 23mg milbemycin oxime and 228mg praziquantel.


my tank is 60G cube sps dom. the reason I'm dosing this is because some of my acros have some bugs, Not the common RedBugs but BlackBugs, Yup you heard me.. I'm not sure how i got it but i treat all my frags with Bayer.
2:30 turn off Carbon/GFO. remove hose on skimmer remove as much snails as i can.
3:00 pm cut 1/4 peice of Chewable Tablet, smash it up.
3:30 pm pour into tank got a bit cloudy
4:00 pm change out GFO and Carbon. LEAVE OFF!!!
4:30 pm as of now inspect infected corals, i can see them moving around on the specimen. what??

now this is weird, its been about an hour and all my corals has shown no slime whatsoever.

What to do now? smash up more and dose the tank?

Im researching a whole tank treatment. My encrusted colonies are showing red bugs.

I've used Interceptor several times and my SPS have never slimed up, so no surprise there.

let it be for 12 hours, then exchange carbon and start skimmer and do a water change

repeat next week
and the week after.

they WILL come back, I did about 6 treatments, through 1 year ... I just didnt think they would come back after the firt treatment so skipped the rest.

last time I did it I did all 3 treatments and havent seen any since.

corals shouldnt slime, just crabs and shrimp look like they are peed off lol

Sorry I didn't update this tread. Interceptor spectrum works, I used a whole tablet for my 60g and everything seemed fine. Crabs dead though. But this med you simply cannot overdose. If you can get it, use it. I just did my second treatment and everything is good. I'm still unsure if I should just do the third treatment. Ill post some pictures up later

Interceptor spectrum is hard to come by. You need a vets prescription to actually buy it. Everything is doing great with the exception of a fuzzy algae on rocks after I dose but its not noticeable and by the next couple days it's gone.

That's exactly what I use. I got the 6 tablet one. A bit of an overkill but it'll last awhile

What size pill for dogs do you need? Does it matter?

It's not a pill. It's a tablet about 1x1 I used half of it to dose my tank. This tablet you can't overdose. I used one whole tab and I did not loose one sps or fish

Ok I wasn't sure on the size of the tablet so I bought the one for 50-100 pound dogs. I'm assuming I will have to break it in half or something for my 100 gallons or so of water. Is there a chart that shows the correct amount to dose? It might be awhile though. Shows 2-3 days processing and 7-12 days to ship after that

I would dose the full tablet. I dosed half with no ill effect and mine was a 50g.
