Have a couple questions. How long does it take for the clam to attach to a small piece of rock? Also how much current can a Crocea deal with? Can a clam detach from a rock if it is not happy with conditions?

Presently the clam is on a small piece of liverock at the bottom of a 20 gal long with 250 W MH lighting. The clam is fully extended and the mantle is not being moved too much by the current.

Would like to eventually move him into rockwork but don't know if there will be too much current. The current is set up for SPS.

Thanks for advice.

clams can attach in as short as a few hours or it could take weeks. most of the time if a clam is comfortable with its surroundings it will attach with in a week.

clams can deal with a fair amount of flow, just as long as its not getting directly blasted and can fully extend its mantle without it flapping around
